OBJECTS OF SMAC

1. The objects of the association :


1.1 To provide cost free / subsidized medicine, diagnostic tests, rehabilitation regime and any other support to the patients who are infirm and poorest of the poor. Source of patients would be the existing free / charitable / welfare clinic through out the country.
1.2 To provide services to the affected persons due to natural disaster / calamity under the supervision and guidance of any NGO / charitable / welfare organisation by way of providing relief or similar ideology.
1.3 To provide medical facility at remote places within the country engaging doctors for providing free services to the patient as mentioned in clause 3.1, at an honorarium.
1.4 To set up an eye and other clinic centre with an operation theater for conducting eye and other general operations, equipped with necessary equipments and instruments for the patients as mentioned in clause 1.1.
1.5 To setup a Diagnostic Laboratory equipped with necessary equipment & instrument for the patients as mentioned in clause no. 1.1.
1.6 To arrange and provide free Ambulance services to the patients as mentioned in clause no. 1.1.
1.7 To provide all available services to the General Public against any kind of donations which may be used for the patients as mentioned in clause no. 1.1.
2. In relation to any charitable purpose including the care or relief of orphans, or of aged, sick, helpless or indigent persons.

3. To open shelters or houses for orphans for their refuge with the sole purpose of charity and without any motive of earning;
4. To support and donate in cash or in kind to government, semi-government or non-government organizations which keep and support orphans as a regular activity;
5. To take all such courses as will directly or indirectly help the orphans to sustain and live like ordinary men and while taking any such course no motive other than pure philanthropy will be encouraged;
6. To open old age home for old men and women where the senior citizens shall feel at home and live with like-minded associates without paying such exorbitant fee as may result in the making of profit in the hands of the organisers of the old age home;

7. To open rehabilitation centers, charitable dispensaries or small hospitals having obtained proper licenses from competent authorities to arrange accommodation, care and treatment of sick, helpless or indigent persons and while doing so charity will precede all other considerations;

8. To support and donate in cash or in kind to the government, semi-government or non-government organisations that rehabilitate, arrange care and treatment as a regular activity of sick, helpless or indigent persons;
9. To open rehabilitation centers for mentally retarded children or victims of cerebral palsy, physically handicapped / challenged children with arrangements of modern and scientific techniques for their education and train¬ing with the sole purpose of charity;
10. To engage attention and sympathy in the cause of the mentally retarded and physically handicapped / challenged persons of all age group with a view to successfully inculcating in them the sense of self-esteem as also with a view to educating the society as such to accept them as ordinary persons.
11. To educate people to allow mentally deranged people to live with the relatives and friends as far as practicable and to engage them in different walks of life commensurate with their worth and ability;
12. To support and donate in cash or in kind to the government, semi-government or non-government organisations working in the fields of welfare of mentally retarded, mentally deranged and physically handicapped / challenged persons as regular practice;
13. To work benevolently in other areas of diseases and sufferings, viz., thalasaemia, cancer etc. and promote research and development in such fields with the sole mission of charity;
14. Other objects.

14.1 To take up any other objects as may not specifically resemble the foregoing objects but which shall not be in contrast with the provisions of section 4(2) of the Act, the underlying purpose thereof being philanthropy;
14.2 To resort to all other activities which are incidental, ancillary and complementary to the foregoing objects.
