We take great pleasure in announcing the launch of SMAC, a philanthropic organization aimed at improving the quality of life of persons living below poverty line.
In the next few lines we are detailing about the concept and operation of SMAC (Society for Medical Aid & Care), to be registered and become operational very soon, under your leadership and guidance.
SCOPE OF WORK
Patients of BPL standard /poorer section of the society, suffering from various ailments commonly used to frequent free or charitable health centers for their treatment. Most of this dispensary provides a part of the prescribed medicine and or pathological / ECG test reports and advise them to procure the rest from out side facilities. But on most of the occasion the patient choose not to go for the rest of the prescribed medicine and or diagnostic test because of their poor financial status. As a result the patient failed to respond to the treatment. If this discussed patient is the sole bread winner for the entire family, we jolly well understand the consequences may happen to the family.
IDENTIFICATION OF PATIENTS
Our aim is to identify these patients through the operating free clinics and provide them with medicine /diagnostic tests/rehabilitation support till they resume their normal life.
REHABILITATION
Simultaneously we also have an ambitious plan of setting up a Physiotherapy clinic for the patients suffering from joint pain, inflammation of joint and similar disorders.
FUND MOBILISATION
We shall have constant endeavor to motivate the Pharmaceutical Companies, Diagnostics Laboratories along with Corporate / Multinational companies, Funding agencies and individuals as well.
- Government Schemes
- Donations - corporates, foreign funding agencies, charitable trusts, individuals
- Fund-Raising Drives - on own or with "channel partners" e.g. schools, associations, ladies clubs.
PROCUREMENT OF COST FREE MEDICINE
We shall have constant endeavor to procure medicine from various possible sources.
PROCUREMENT OF AN E.C.G MACHINE
We shall have to procure an E.C.G. machine, free of cost, from various possible sources.
REHABILITATION CENTRE
Physiotherapist N. Sil has agreed to offer his services towards running the Rehabilitation Centre for a nominal honorarium using his own equipments. Later on we shall arrange our own equipments. (approx. 12 hours a week)
PATHOLOGICAL TEST
Dr. Naren Pandey of MEDILAND DIAGNOSTIC INSTITUTE Kolkata, has agreed to offer us a substantial discount (% of discount and other formalities to be discussed, once registration is complete) on all pathological test done from his laboratory.
So you are hereby requested to offer a letter addressed to the Secretary, SMAC Society for Medical Aid & Care 24/1, Tollygunge Circular Road, New Alipore, Kolkata, Pin - 700 053, West Bengal, India, Asia, Tel no. : +919051139019, mentioning your willingness to join the organisation as an honorery member.
We have already found a few foreign nationals interested to join this movement as members. We shall declare their names and other details as soon as we receive their consent letter.
In the mean while we are contacting many other like minded individuals to join and support our movement.
